Adult Sunday Sailing

Adult Sunday Sailing at Medway Watersports offers regular sessions to practise and refine your sailing skills on the tidal River Medway. Sessions are designed to be hands on and confidence building, so you will spend most of the time on the water supported by friendly instructors who keep things safe, relaxed and encouraging. Beginners can start in a lively fleet of Toppers to master the basics and then progress into double-handed boats as skills and enthusiasm grow.

Each session gives you two full hours on the water, plus time to learn practical boat work. Please arrive 30 minutes early to rig your own boat and allow 30 minutes afterwards to de-rig and pack away. If the weather is unfavourable, the learning continues with engaging land-based activities that help you understand sailing from every angle. The sessions are suitable for anyone aged 16 and over who can launch and recover a boat independently and right a capsized boat without assistance. An instructor will always be close by to guide your progress at your own pace.

To stay safe and comfortable wear old clothes you do not mind getting wet, and bring trainers or water shoes. Flip-flops and Crocs are not allowed and you will not be able to participate without proper footwear. Bring a towel and dry clothes for afterwards. Venue: Strand Approach Rd, Gillingham, Kent ME7 1TT.
