Rochester
Join a beginner-friendly birdwatching walk at RSPB Cliffe Pools in Rochester and explore the rich coastal wildlife of this important reserve. This gentle circular walk is perfect for anyone keen to learn more about bird identification, behaviour and the seasonal changes that bring different species to the pools and shoreline. Whether you are new to birdwatching or already have some experience, there will be time to stop, listen and observe the birds we spot along the way.
The paths around the reserve are fairly flat but can become muddy after rain, so please wear suitable footwear. Well behaved dogs are welcome but must be kept on a lead to avoid disturbing wildlife. Bring binoculars if you have them, warm clothing and seasonal essentials for an outdoor walk. Knowledgeable volunteers will help point out notable species and offer tips for getting the most from your visit to this coastal habitat.
The meeting point is the main car park at Cliffe Pools RSPB Reserve, Salt Lane, Rochester. Note that there are no toilet facilities at the reserve itself; the nearest toilets are in Cliffe village next to the church. Attendance is free but spaces are limited, so booking is required. Final confirmation and joining instructions will be emailed 24 hours before the walk.
Tickets can be purchased via this third-party website.
