Mon, 11 May 2026 13:00 PM - 15:00 PM

Hermitage Ln, Maidstone, ME16 9QQ

Overview

Breastfeeding Grief and Trauma Workshop by MTW Trust offers a compassionate, practical space for anyone who has experienced a difficult or traumatic breastfeeding journey. This face to face workshop runs for two hours and is led by the Perinatal Mental Health Midwife together with the Infant Feeding team, providing specialist knowledge and sensitive support.

The session is designed to help participants make sense of their experience, process complex emotions and learn simple coping strategies for managing grief and anxiety around feeding. Facilitators will combine emotional support with infant feeding expertise, creating a safe environment to share, reflect and build resilience. Expect a blend of guided discussion, listening, validation and signposting to further services where appropriate. The emphasis is on peer support and practical reassurance rather than clinical therapy.

This workshop is held at the Birthing Centre and is open to those who feel impacted by past or current breastfeeding challenges. It is suitable for people seeking understanding, reassurance and clear next steps from experienced midwifery and infant feeding professionals. If you need focused, face to face support for breastfeeding related grief or trauma, this session offers expert-led care in a supportive, confidential setting.
