About this event

The workshop starts with a welcome drink of mulled wine, tea or coffee and mince pie, then Alex Rowling, Managing Director of Master Ropemakers, guides attendees through the techniques for creating a traditional door wreath. Attendees will take their place at the crafting tables to make their own wreath; decorations will be provided, from foliage to ribbons and festive materials. The base of each wreath is formed from rope made by the Master Ropemakers.

Arrival is at 11am. The Historic Dockyard Chatham and its attractions are closed throughout December, and it will not be possible to explore the wider Dockyard site on the day of the workshop. The Ropery Shop will be open.
