Cook your way to recovery Maidstone is an eight-week community cooking group held at the Blackthorn Trust Maidstone. Designed for people with lived experience of addiction or those supporting a loved one, the sessions use simple, delicious recipes and shared meals to build practical cooking skills, social connection and wellbeing through food.
The course begins on Wednesday 14th January 2026 and runs for eight weeks, though you are welcome to join in subsequent weeks if tickets have not sold out. Each session is led by experienced volunteers and includes all ingredients, equipment and a communal sit-down meal prepared together.
Sessions follow a friendly, supportive structure: you will be guided through a recipe as you chat and connect with others, then sit down to enjoy the meal. Everything you cook can be wrapped up to take home so you can enjoy it later or share it with family. The volunteers have expertise in addiction recovery and can offer practical support, referrals and advocacy if required.
Tickets must be prebooked and the programme is completely free, with food provided. This is a safe, welcoming space to learn, meet like-minded people and explore healing through the power of community cooking. Book your free ticket to reserve your place at the Blackthorn Trust Maidstone.
