Join industry experts at the University of Greenwich, Medway campus for a focused course on the storage and discharge of powders and bulk solids. Theory sessions run on 21 to 22 April 2026, followed by a practical workshop on 23 April 2026. The programme combines classroom teaching with case studies and discussion to help you understand hopper and silo behaviour, discharge aids, feeder interfacing and the prediction of discharge rates.
The course covers practical design considerations, methods for determining flow properties of bulk solids, hopper geometry and reliable discharge design. Case studies and discussion periods give delegates the chance to analyse real operational problems, while the workshop includes demonstrations of equipment and can be attended as a stand-alone session if preferred.
This course is designed for plant designers, plant managers, maintenance staff and operational personnel, as well as senior managers who need to improve plant efficiency and reduce production issues. It is also ideal for those new to materials handling or anyone seeking an update on current solids handling technology. The teaching team includes Dr Baldeep Kaur with contributions from experienced Wolfson Centre staff and industry experts.
Registration and payment are available via the online shop and online registration closes on 9 April 2026. Discounts are offered for group bookings and returning delegates, and the course can be delivered in-company on request to suit operational requirements.
Tickets can be purchased via this third-party website.
