Course: Troubleshooting and Commissioning ‘Hands-on’ Pneumatic Conveying Systems

Wed, 03 Jun 2026 12:00 PM - 12:00 PM

Central Ave, Chatham, ME4 4TB

Overview

Join a practical, hands-on course in troubleshooting and commissioning pneumatic conveying systems at the University of Greenwich Medway campus in Chatham Maritime, Kent. Designed for engineers and technicians actively involved in commissioning or troubleshooting, the programme focuses on setting up and optimising systems so they operate as their designers intended. Delegates work with on-site pneumatic conveying lines and rotary valves in laboratory sessions to gain direct experience with starting up systems and solving real-world problems.

Topics include recognising key operational signals, avoiding startup pitfalls such as blockages, and judging when a system is performing to specification. The course covers lean and dense phase conveying, rotary valves, blow tanks and various air supply types, and emphasises optimisation around priorities such as energy use, particle blockage and system wear.

The sessions are led by Dr Atul Sharma with contributions from Dr Baldeep Kaur and Professor Mike Bradley of The Wolfson Centre. Attendance is limited to six delegates per course to ensure intensive practical support. Group booking discounts and reduced fees for returning delegates are available, and in-company courses can be arranged on request to suit organisational needs.

Course dates include 10 to 11 December 2025 and 2 to 3 June 2026. Online registration and payment are available via the on-line shop and online registration closes on 27 November 2025. Please check fees and availability when booking.
