Join an OPAL school visit at Grove Park Primary School in Sittingbourne, Kent, and see first hand how excellent play provision transforms childrens school days. This afternoon session is for schools currently enrolled in the OPAL Primary Programme and offers the chance to observe a platinum OPAL playtime, meet the curriculum lead and play coordinator, and network with other local OPAL schools. Play makes up around 20% of primary school life and Grove Park demonstrates a rich, varied offer including a large loose parts shed, a huge sandpit, water play, den building, arts and crafts, wheeled play, sport and gardening activities.
Grove Park is a 400-pupil primary school that began its OPAL journey in 2023 and achieved the OPAL Platinum Award in 2025. Attendees will be able to ask pupils about risk management and talk to staff about the changes they have seen since adopting OPAL. The visit includes time for practical discussion, shared ideas and inspiration to help you develop playtimes at your own school.
Please note this event is only for current OPAL schools. Places are limited and only two tickets are available per school, so book early and let organisers know if you cannot attend so your place can be released. Tea and coffee will be provided and you are welcome to bring a nut free lunch. There is a car park on site and the school is around a 10 minute taxi ride or a 35 minute walk from Sittingbourne station. Please dress appropriately as sessions take place outdoors in all weathers.
Tickets can be purchased via this third-party website.
