Experience Daliso Chaponda live in Topical Storm, a sharp and timely standup show from a comedian who has been writing about the news for over a decade. Known for appearances on Have I Got News for You, Radio 4's News Quiz and Australias Good News Week, Daliso turns his attention to how we consume and understand news today. Expect razor-sharp one-liners, observational insight and fearless takes on the headlines.
Topical Storm is not simply a show about the news, but about news itself. Daliso examines journalists, bloggers and the spread of fake news, asking whether reporting is polarising society rather than educating it. With a mix of satire and storytelling he even imagines going back to the first ever news bulletin the original caveman drawing on a wall to rebuild how we share information from the ground up. The show has been praised as "Full of sharp one-liners and well crafted gags...a real talent" (Metro), "Gets laughs out of topics other comedians shun" (The Guardian) and "Brilliantly bold, thoroughly engaging and provocative" (Wee Review).
