Discover the future of transport at Drive Electric, an in-person event at MidKent College Maidstone Campus that brings together electric vehicle enthusiasts, local businesses and anyone curious about EVs. Expect a full day of indoor and outdoor exhibits showcasing the latest electric cars, commercial vehicles, e-bikes and mobility solutions, plus the infrastructure that supports electrification across the region.
Hear from industry experts, council representatives and college specialists in a series of presentations and panel sessions covering EV charging rollout, local energy plans, cost-saving grants and the practicalities of switching to electric. Representatives from the Energy Saving Trust and Maidstone Borough Council will outline funding options, common myths about charging and what electrification could mean for households and businesses. Local firms will display energy-saving technologies used on campus, including photovoltaic solar systems, ground source and air source heat pumps.
There will be opportunities to test drive a wide range of electric vehicles on the day. To take part in the Ride and Drive you must be over 21 and have held a full UK driving licence for at least two years. You will need a printed copy of your Driving Licence Check and your GET A CODE reference, obtainable at https://www.viewdrivingrecord.service.gov.uk/driving-record/licence-number. Refreshments will be available onsite and the event welcomes residents, students, local businesses and those with accessibility needs. Drive Electric is organised in partnership with MidKent College, Maidstone Borough Council and Let's Experience Electric.
