FORAGE & NIBBLE in Sittingbourne (Kent)

Sat, 11 Apr 2026 10:00 AM - 13:00 PM

Overview

Join a 3-hour Forage & Nibble workshop in Sittingbourne, Kent led by an experienced forager and community herbalist. This hands-on session combines outdoor identification, gentle tasting and a guided oxymel-making class so you can turn wild ingredients into a medicinal cordial to take home. The event focuses on medicinal and edible wild species and is ideal for beginners and more experienced hobby foragers alike.

Expect to explore a circular route of around 2-3km on footpaths, with approximately 2.5 hours spent foraging and 30 minutes preparing your wild oxymel. The workshop covers the four F's of foraging: fungi, fruit, flowers and foliage, and includes practical guidance on safety, ethics, sustainability and poisonous lookalikes. Your tutor will encourage questions and contributions, and after the event you will receive a follow-up email listing everything found on the day for your own research.

Practical information: the meeting point is in the car park of Borden Village Football Club. There is plenty of free on-street parking nearby but please do not park at the football club itself. Toilets are not available at this venue, so please plan accordingly. Attendees should bring a clean, empty jam jar to take home their oxymel. The workshop is family friendly and suitable for most abilities; a small selection of wild products and workshop vouchers may be available to buy at the end of the session.
