Free domestic & sexual abuse workshop & Helpline launch

Tue, 24 Feb 2026 10:30 AM - 13:30 PM

39-48 Marsham St, Maidstone, ME14 1HH

Overview

Join us in person for a free Active Bystander workshop and the launch of a new helpline at Maidstone Community Support Centre. This event offers a welcoming, safe space to learn about taking positive action around domestic and sexual abuse, and to be part of a community response that cares for survivors and witnesses alike.

The session is designed for anyone who wants to help others or who is looking for guidance themselves. You will have the opportunity to listen, share and build practical confidence in how to respond safely and supportively. Facilitators aim to create an environment where participants can ask questions, discuss real situations and practise simple, effective approaches to intervening.

Attending this workshop will help you feel more prepared to offer support, understand local sources of help and learn how the new helpline will operate to assist people in need. The launch is a chance to meet others from the community, discover what services are available and hear about how the helpline can connect people to appropriate support.

This is a free, in-person event and all are welcome. Come along to empower yourself, contribute to a safer community and find out more about the new helpline and the ongoing work of local support services.
