About this event
Haunted Supper is a Halloween dining experience at the Historic Dockyard Chatham that pairs a seasonal three-course dinner with true stories drawn from the site’s past. On the eve of Halloween, step inside the newly restored Commissioner’s House, Britain’s oldest intact naval building, and take your seat in the elegant Sunne Room for an intimate evening after dark.
Between courses, gifted storytellers will introduce you to people who once lived and worked at the Dockyard and to strange, unexplained happenings that have become part of local legend. These are not invented scares but tales drawn from history, personal encounters and curious moments that linger in the memory. One story tells of a young servant girl who waited in vain for a sweetheart lost at sea; some say she can still be seen on the servants’ staircase, gazing towards the river.
This is not an evening of jump scares or staged frights. Settle in over supper, enjoy good food and good company, and let the stories take you into the Dockyard’s past in the very place where some of that history unfolded. Come with friends or make a night of it with your partner and leave with memories that may stay with you long after you step back into the Dockyard.
