Human Factors

Human Factors is a focused professional development session designed to introduce healthcare staff to practical human factors principles and patient safety frameworks. Held at Medway Maritime Hospital on 26 May 2026 with a start time of 08:30, the session covers an Introduction to Human Factors, the Patient Safety Incident Response Framework (PSIRF), and the Systems Engineering Initiative for Patient Safety (SEIPS) with guidance on how to use these approaches confidently in clinical settings. The content emphasises understanding how systems, teams and tasks interact to influence safety and outcomes.

Attendees will gain a clear overview of PSIRF and SEIPS and learn how these frameworks support incident analysis, system improvement and safer care delivery.
