Join Kent Wildlife Trust for an Introduction to Water Vole ecology and surveys, a Study Day designed for beginners who want to learn about one of Britains most cherished riverbank mammals. The day begins with an indoor session at Tyland Barn covering water vole ecology, habits, lifestyle and threats, plus how to recognise field signs and basic survey methods. The practical element then moves to Oare Marshes wildlife reserve where you will put your identification and survey skills into practice in the field under the guidance of Steve Weeks, Area Manager for Kent Wildlife Trust Reserves.
This course is suitable for beginners and is aimed at adults aged 18 and over. Parking charges apply at Oare Marshes but are included with your ticket if you book at least 72 hours in advance. To receive free parking you must email the correct vehicle number plate to parkingcharges@kentwildlife.org.uk at least 72 hours before the event start time, including the event date and the name your booking was made in. If you book within 72 hours of the event or do not confirm your number plate by that time, you will need to pay for parking on the day.
