Little Loves Stay and Play

Little Loves Stay and Play invites parents and little ones to a relaxed, welcoming session of messy and sensory play at Downswood Community Association. Each week the space is set up with tuff trays on a themed rota, with the first week exploring colour through water play and texture activities. Long tables are laid out with crafts and playdough where children can mix herbs and flower petals into their creations, while a variety of toys such as a car mat, train tracks, dolls, a pretend picnic area, themed tents and a tunnel offer open-ended play for toddlers.

There is always a spacious dedicated baby area with soft flooring, a teepee filled with sensory toys, cushions for support and play mats for smaller children. Little Loves is run by two friends who want to build a non-judgemental, supportive space where parents can chat, make friends and feel excited to come along rather than just to entertain their children. The session is designed to be welcoming to nervous or overwhelmed parents and to make local families feel connected.
