About this event
Join Maidstone Home Ed Nature Explorers at Tyland Barn for a six-week Forest School programme designed for the home education community. These weekly two-hour sessions give children the chance to explore the outdoors, meet new friends and discover practical ways to have fun in nature. The programme is ideal for ages 4 to 11, with sibling tickets available for children aged 3 and above. Younger siblings who will not be joining in with activities do not need a ticket.
Activities are led by a Level 3 trained Forest School leader and follow forest school principles while taking full advantage of the reserve. Sessions encourage children to lead their own learning and focus on problem solving, communication, creativity and physical development. Typical activities include pond dipping, minibeast hunts, crafts, den building and small fires, offering hands-on experiences that help inspire a lifelong love of nature.
All children must be accompanied by an adult. There is a maximum of four children per adult and a maximum of two adults per child to ensure safe, supportive sessions. Free parking is available at Tyland Barn and there is a nearby bus stop for convenient travel. For questions or to find out more, contact forestschool@kentwildlife.org.uk or call 01622 662012. Bookings are handled through Eventbrite.
