Marketing for heritage projects and events

Thu, 14 May 2026 17:00 PM - 18:30 PM

Medway St, Chatham, ME4 4HF

Overview

Join a free interactive session designed for Medway's heritage community that will help you promote your heritage project, event or offer. Led by experienced facilitators, this practical workshop will help you identify your target audience, promote your offer effectively and write compelling press releases that attract local interest and coverage.

The session mixes practical exercises, short presentations, Q&A and group discussion so you will leave with clear actions and templates you can use straight away. It is aimed at anyone who works or volunteers in heritage and has a heritage offer they want to promote, whether you are working with limited resources or looking to reach new audiences.

Find out about local opportunities to showcase your work and learn low-cost approaches to marketing and community engagement. The workshop forms part of the Medway Heritage Place skills development programme, supported by The National Lottery Heritage Fund, which aims to bring Medway's stories to life through investment and local projects.

The session will be held at Sun Pier House in Medway. If you have access requirements or specific questions, please email heritageplace@medway.gov.uk. There are more free skills development workshops taking place across 2025 and 2026, so this event is a great way to start building your skills and network in Medway's growing heritage community.
