Medway Matters Live

Wed, 06 May 2026 18:00 PM - 19:45 PM

Northgate, Rochester, ME1 1LS

Overview

Medway Matters Live is a public meeting for local residents to hear directly from Medway Council leadership and put questions to them. Join Cllr Vince Maple, Leader of Medway Council, and Richard Hicks, Chief Executive, for an open Question and Answer panel hosted by TV news presenter Rob Smith. The event will cover Local Government Reorganisation and Devolution and what these changes mean for people living and working in Medway.

Before the main session there will be information stands showcasing a range of council services, including Public Health, Libraries, Medway Adult Education, Welfare and Benefits, Information, Advice and Guidance, Fostering for Medway, Climate Response and Child Friendly Medway. This is a practical chance to learn more about the services available and to raise any concerns directly with council staff as well as the leadership team.

The evening takes place at The Corn Exchange. Doors open at 6.00pm, the main event starts at 7.00pm and the programme finishes at 8.45pm. Residents are encouraged to arrive early to visit the information stands and to register any questions for the panel.

The council aims to make the event inclusive. If you have accessibility requirements, including British Sign Language support, please email communications@medway.gov.uk in advance so arrangements can be made.
