About this event
The session is a fun, practical and informative 4-hour Night Navigation for Beginners session exploring the countryside.
Participants don't need to be an experienced navigator. The session starts with the basics, showing participants how to read a map, understand what they're seeing around them and use a compass, and as darkness falls the group will put those skills into practice; "Landmarks become harder to spot" and paths that seem obvious during the day can look very different at night. The session includes group practice with plenty of opportunities to have a go, ask questions and practise the skills along the way. By the end of the evening participants will understand the basics of map and compass navigation and use those skills after dark.
