Reflective Practice

Reflective Practice is a free monthly training session designed to help people start a career or volunteering role in the youth sector in Medway. Run by Medway Youth Service and advertised on behalf of Young Medway, this Introduction to Youth Work series covers practical topics that form the induction programme for part-time staff and volunteers. The sessions combine practical guidance, group discussion and real-world examples to help attendees apply learning in community settings.

Sessions run 6-9pm on the third Tuesday of each month at Parkwood Youth Centre. Each month focuses on a different aspect of youth work practice, from planning activities and developing communication skills to safeguarding basics and reflective practice techniques. The programme is ideal for volunteers, new staff and anyone working with young people who wants structured, accessible training that builds confidence and competence.

Attendance is free for anyone volunteering or working with young people in Medway, and local residents interested in entering the youth sector are also welcome.
