S-Club Sessions — 21 Together

Sat, 25 Apr 2026 09:00 AM - 10:00 AM

39-48 Marsham St, Maidstone, ME14 1HH

Overview

S-Club sessions are weekly social and learning groups in Maidstone for young people with Down's syndrome aged 11 to early 20s. Run by 21 Together, the programme is split into three complementary sessions: smiLE therapy, skills and a social slot. The smiLE therapy blocks focus on helping participants take responsibility for their communication, repair breakdowns in face-to-face situations and use strategies to make their message understood. Communication skills covered include clarifying information, working respectfully in groups and socially appropriate behaviours such as greetings and waiting turns.

The skills sessions follow a PSHE-focused curriculum designed by a specialist Education Lead and cover friendships, relationships, understanding bodies and appropriate behaviour through fun, curriculum-led activities. The social session gives young people time to practise what they have learned, make friends and build connections to reduce isolation.

S-Club runs in blocks of 10 consecutive Saturdays, typically from 10:00 to 15:30, with individual group session times emailed to families. Meetings take place in Marsham Street, Maidstone ME14 1HH. The sessions are ideal for families seeking a supportive, structured environment where young people can develop communication and life skills alongside their peers.
