S-Club Sessions — 21 Together

Sat, 23 May 2026 09:00 AM - 10:00 AM

39-48 Marsham St, Maidstone, ME14 1HH

Overview

S-Club sessions offer weekly social and learning opportunities for young people with Down's syndrome aged 11 to early 20s, based at the Maidstone Community Support Centre on Marsham Street. The programme runs in blocks of 10 consecutive Saturdays and combines three complementary sessions: smiLE therapy, PSHE-focused skills sessions, and relaxed social time to build friendships and reduce isolation.

In smiLE therapy participants learn practical communication strategies to become more confident and independent communicators, including ways to prevent and repair communication breakdowns, techniques to clarify information, and how to work respectfully with peers. The skills sessions are curriculum-led and delivered by a specialist Education Lead. These fun-based PSHE sessions cover friendships, relationships, bodies, and appropriate behaviour to support personal development.

The social session gives young people a safe space to practise what they have learned, make connections and enjoy time with peers. Sessions run from 10:00 to 15:30, with individual group times shared by email. S-Club is ideal for families seeking a structured, supportive programme that combines therapy, learning and social opportunities for young people with Down's syndrome in Maidstone.
