Overview

Join the SEN Programme 2025/26 session on Sensory Processing Differences on 19 May 2026 at the Endeavour Centre, Strood Academy, Rochester ME2 2SX. This course is designed for school staff including SENCOs, teachers and teaching assistants working across the primary and secondary range. It will develop your understanding of sensory processing and how differences can affect behaviour, attention and access to learning in the classroom.

Through practical, evidence-informed approaches you will explore how to identify sensory needs, make simple but effective adaptations to the learning environment and use strategies that support regulation and engagement. The session emphasises collaboration with colleagues and families to reduce barriers to learning and help pupils achieve positive educational outcomes. Further information and the full course flyer are available via the event page.

The course is led by Zoe, Assistant Headteacher and Inclusion Manager at a mainstream primary with two special resourced provisions for pupils with autism and visual impairment. With over 25 years in primary education, more than 10 years as a SENCo, a Masters in Education specialising in social, emotional and behavioural needs, and accreditation in VI, ASD and PDA, Zoe brings deep practical experience and a clear commitment to inclusion. Expect actionable strategies you can use straight away to support learners and build a more inclusive classroom.
