Taste of the Caribbean: Food & Drink Festival at Mote Park, Maidstone is a vibrant outdoor celebration of Caribbean cuisine, culture and live entertainment. Sample food from islands across the Caribbean with over 50 variations on offer, including vegan options and classics such as jerk chicken, oxtail, ackee and saltfish, curry goat, roti, plantain and seafood. Traders include some of the UKs best restaurants and street food vendors, so you can try as many different cuisines as you can handle.
The festival features live music ranging from reggae and The Marley Experience tribute to Motown, R&B classics and hits from the 80s and 90s, plus cooking demonstrations with celebrity and local chefs. Bring blankets and foldable chairs, enjoy funfair rides and free children's activities, and browse stalls selling books, jewellery, clothes, cosmetics and more. Rum punch and a wide range of drinks will be available, and most food and rides are purchased separately on the day.
This is a family-friendly event with free entry for children under 14 when accompanied by a paying adult, although VIP areas require separate tickets and may have age restrictions. Please note that tickets are non-refundable unless the event is postponed or cancelled, live performers and activities may change, and no outside food or drink is permitted other than sealed baby food for under 3s. Taste of the Caribbean Maidstone promises a full day of flavours, music and family fun in the open air.
