The Hot Tin, Whitstable Rd, Faversham, ME13 8BD
Experience a contemplative sound bath immersion at The Hot Tin in Faversham, featuring guest artist Maureen Wolloshin and the Sound Emergence collective. Set within a restored Victorian corrugated iron chapel, this intimate, seated event brings together experimental oboe, field recordings and evolving bellows and organs to imagine the sonic world of the medieval anchoress once attached to St Mary of Charity.
Maureen Wolloshin is an oboist, improviser and composer whose practice involves co-creating with people, objects and places. Working alongside André Braga-Verissimo and Sasha Maye Bruce of Sound Emergence, she will present a 60 minute sound piece that blends instruments, local recordings and site-specific resonances. The programme also includes a relaxed social with hot food and drinks from 12:00 and a talk and Q&A with the artists from 14:00 to 15:00.
This event is seated with limited space, so please dress comfortably and book a place for every person attending. The sound bath may not be suitable for very young children and all children must be accompanied by an adult. Hot, home-cooked food and drinks are available at the bar from midday but are not included with the booking.
Suggested contribution is £5 to £15 per place, with a full series ticket available for £25 to attend multiple events in the series. The venue is walkable from Faversham train station and has local parking and bus stops nearby; see Routestock for travel details.
