Turtle Tots

Turtle Tots offers a child-centred baby and toddler swimming programme at Mercure Maidstone Great Danes Hotel, Maidstone, Kent, ME17 1RE. Classes are designed for babies from birth to children aged 4 years and focus on safe, enjoyable water time for little ones and their grown-ups. Please note this event must be booked in advance. No drop-ins are accepted.

The programme uses adapted activities to meet each child’s individual needs and is delivered in a friendly, sociable setting. Over the course of the baby and toddler programme parents and carers are taught separate techniques and practices needed to support a child towards independent swimming. Sessions emphasise enjoyment while introducing essential life-saving skills, with highly trained teachers ensuring classes remain fun and developmentally appropriate.

All Turtle Tots teachers hold the highest available Swimming Teachers’ Association qualifications and receive additional training in how babies communicate in the pre-verbal period, early brain development and the importance of early attachment. Every member of staff holds a current DBS check and has completed a Safeguarding Children, Young People & Vulnerable Adults course.
