Join the Wateringbury to Yalding Walk on 15 March 2026 for a scenic riverside ramble through one of Kent's most historic and fertile landscapes. This guided countryside walk follows the Medway Valley Walk through riverside meadows, orchards and quiet lanes, giving great views of the river and local wildlife as you move between traditional villages and managed parkland.
The circular route starts at Wateringbury Station, Off Maidstone Road, Wateringbury, ME18 5EA (what3words: ///sprayer.cares.tropic). Please meet at 09:15 for a 09:30 start. We will walk for approximately 4.5 hours including a lunch break, covering roughly 11 km (6.5 miles). The terrain is mostly flat with one steep section. From Wateringbury we follow the River Medway towards Yalding, taking in historic bridges and waterside meadows, then return via Teston Bridge Country Park. Walk leader: Ian Henderson.
Please wear suitable footwear such as walking boots or sturdy shoes and bring a waterproof coat, plenty of drinking water and a packed lunch. If needed, waterproof trousers and any personal medication are recommended. Well behaved dogs are welcome but must remain on a lead at all times and owners are responsible for their animals. Photos may be taken for promotional and training purposes; let the leader know if you prefer not to be included. Note the cancellation policy: full payment is due if you cancel within 4 days of the event. Cancellations made earlier receive a credit valid for 90 days.
