Young Peoples Development

Start your journey into the youth sector with a free Introduction to Youth Work programme delivered monthly at Parkwood Youth Centre. Each session covers a different aspect of youth work practice and is designed to build confidence, practical skills and understanding for anyone working with young people in Medway. Sessions run from 6pm to 9pm on the third Tuesday of each month.

This series provides the induction training required for part time staff and volunteers and is also available at no cost to local volunteers and workers supporting young people. Topics change each month so attendees can pick sessions that meet their development needs, from safeguarding and engagement techniques to session planning and community working. The practical format and local focus make these evenings a useful starting point for new workers and a helpful refresher for experienced volunteers.

Sessions are run and managed by Medway Youth Service and are being advertised on their behalf by Young Medway. Places are limited so early booking is recommended to secure a spot.
