Youth Participation

Start your journey into the youth sector with free, monthly Introduction to Youth Work sessions at Parkwood Youth Centre. These three-hour evenings run from 6pm to 9pm on the third Tuesday of each month and are designed as induction training for part-time staff and volunteers. The course is available at no cost to anyone volunteering or working with young people in Medway.

Each month focuses on a different aspect of youth work practice, offering practical guidance, best practice ideas and opportunities to build confidence when supporting young people. Sessions are suitable for those new to youth work as well as existing volunteers who want to refresh their knowledge and network with local practitioners. Attendees will gain a clear introduction to the role and expectations of youth work and leave better prepared to support young people in community settings.
